Vision, Mission, Mandate

Vision: Grenfell Office of Engagement will provide leadership and support in community-engaged scholarship, teaching and learning, and entrepreneurship that contribute to the sustainability of Western Newfoundland and beyond.

Mission: To embed public engagement and a culture of entrepreneurship at Grenfell Campus by supporting students, faculty and staff to build respectful, mutually beneficial relationships with community partners in Western Newfoundland and beyond.

Mandate: Grenfell Office of Engagement provides leadership and support to the three schools to undertake meaningful, impactful public engagement in Western Newfoundland and beyond by both undertaking public engagement and building capacity on campus and in communities to participate in public engagement. GO Engagement supports university-community collaboration and, through Navigate, entrepreneurial development in our region.

Our goals

Goal 1: Develop an Engagement Strategy to connect, embed and communicate engagement efforts to Grenfell Campus's internal community and to external stakeholders.

Goal 2: Increase experiential learning and community engagement by providing opportunities for students to participate with regional partners for the purposes of applied learning.

Goal 3: Support regional development and sustainability through regional engagement initiatives.

Goal 4: Enhance lifelong learning needs using innovative programs and learning opportunities for personal and professional development in diverse communities.

Goal 5: Create and support opportunities for community-engaged scholarship.
